Why this petition matters

Started by Rio Brown

Mrs. Luchsinger and Mrs. Dale are both crucial characters in the development of our student body. The impacts that they have made continue to thrive not only in the current student body, but the alumni as well. It was brought to our attention that Mrs. L wouldn’t have her job reserved for her next year, and Mrs. Dale would be getting moved to one of the elementary school. With the value and tools that they bring to motivate their students, even throughout the Covid-19 crisis, is crucial to the development of many of our high school careers.

I believe, with everything in my heart, that I would not be who I am today without Mrs. L and Mrs. Dale, as throughout my high school years they not only helped me develop in education; they both taught me compassion. I find myself thinking about the impact that they've made on me and how I wouldn't have chosen health care as a profession if it wasn't for the values they instilled within me in my most impressionable years.

Many other students feel the same way about this as I do, here are a few quotes that were given on the impression that they made on our student body:

"Mrs. Dale was the first teacher to accommodate for my ADHD and autism when my papers were lost in transition between schools."

"Mrs. Luchsinger let me use her art supplies for my work when there wasn't anything else I could afford."

"Mrs. Dale brought light to any situation to help me get out of my comfort zone."

"Mrs. Luchsigner was always there when you needed anything, whether it be a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to."

The impacts that these both super-stellar teachers made among us were above and beyond any of our expectations for a teacher at North Lakes Academy. These are the teachers we need at our school, these are the teachers we need to make impressions on us as we continue to grow and develop. These teachers are the embodiment of the spirit at our school, and to release them would be to release the morale and the "becoming" of the small little school that we are lucky to consider our second home.
