North East Indians is an inappropriate title North East has had for too long now. Our goal is to get the school board to change the mascot to a more appropriate fitting mascot for our school. The term Indians is really offensive to actually natives and Indigenous people, and it’s not even a correct term. Either way, their people and their culture should not be used as a sports team name or mascot.
