NORTH DEVON COUNCIL - PLEASE ALLOW THE LEGENDARY GRAND TOUR 2021 TO PARK WITHIN ILFRACOMBE, AND GIVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IT'S MINI RUN FINALE 

With a global pandemic and events starting to take place again this year 2021 sees many charities struggling to secure funding.

The long standing and well established, The Legendary Grand Tour - Small Cars Big Hearts event hasnt taken place for nearly two years, 

The knock on effect has lead to the Children's Hospice Southwest have one of it's many funding sources dry up as the pandemic has stopped all public events.

North Devon Council and those in power who make the decisions with regards to public events, Do you not realise that this event does so much good to help others, Our mental health has taken a massive hit in these last 18 months, let those taking part in the LGT and the people of Ilfracombe and those on Holiday who visit the area see the good that these Small cars with big hearts do.

We have been so looking forward to this year's Mini Grand Tour especially since it is our 25 anniversary and Ilfracombe has always been our finishing point and we loved presenting the prize on the grass.

This year we must apologize to the thousands of people who normally come down to the sea front and watch us arrive at our final stop of the weekend. We all love Ilfracombe, and we thank you for the fantastic support you have given us over the past 25 years and for your help in raising so much money for the CHSW, over £700.000 so far.

In 2018 the Legendary North Devon Grand Tour was nominated for the Pride of Britain award and won the SW regional final. It got lots & lots of Publicity for Torridge DC and North Devon DC, but specially for the Childrens Hospice SW and the work they do. It would seem someone forgot that the Minis turn up at Ilfracombe every August Bank Holiday and have done for the past 25 years.

As normal I applied for my license some time ago and when it came back from North Devon DC it was no different than the one, we had been using for the past 15 years. A short time afterwards I receive my second License only this time someone had put a fair in the middle of our parking area.

Then within days I received my third License and this time North Devon DC had taken even more of our parking area away. Is someone is trying to tell us something.

As we said we can no longer stop at Ilfracombe, but we will still be coming down the High Street and instead of turning right towards the sea front we are going to turn left and disappear up the hill on our way home. So please come out and give us a wave and maybe put your small change into on of our collection Pot.
