This petition is to gain advocacy from Park Circle and North Charleston Residents for potential regulations and restrictions of commercial truck traffic traveling through Park Circle.  

Commercial trucks have the ability to travel alternative routes to access highways 526 and 26 without imposing safety concerns on the residents, pedestrians, and cyclists in the public park and along leading avenues.  With many truck drivers relying on GPS for approved routes, the current lack of restrictions causes many of the drivers to cut through the circle for quicker travel options.

The ultimate goal is to restrict commercial trucks from using the streets, Park Circle and Park Place, therefore reducing the volume of heavy truck traffic on the residential streets leading to the public park.    

Any alternative solutions are welcome as we present our concerns and ideas to the North Charleston City Council and SCDOT.
