The Carolina Hurricanes organ is up for sale on Craigslist. This organ is a part of NC Sports history and should be enshrined in the NC Sports HOF in Raleigh. The organ has been a longstanding tradition out at PNC and it's a shame that it could be bought by someone who is just looking for another piece to a collection. To this point, I believe the NC Museum of History should step in and see about purchasing it to turn it into an exhibit in the HOF.

This organ brings with it thousands of memories. From the first time it was played over 20 years ago, to when it was played during the first playoff games, to when it was played during stoppages of play in the most significant moment in NC Sports history: Game 7 of the 2006 Stanley Cup Finals. Those memories are held dear by myself and by countless other Caniacs who've stood by their team for years.

This organ holds memories for me as well. I remember my first hockey game like it was yesterday. When the organ played, I knew that the players were in need of a rest and that it was about to come. I've seen the Michael & Sons advertisement where Stormy is having issues playing the organ and the company spokesman plugs it in for him so he could play it. I have friends who've enjoyed hearing the organ regale them with dramatic music in the moments that called for it and I've clapped along when the organist played music that emphasized the great H. Wade Minter's goal calls. This organ means a lot to me and it should be honored.

In conclusion, the Carolina Hurricanes organ should be preserved so that future generations, when visiting the NC Sports Hall of Fame (HOF) see it, they can be regaled with stories of the glory days, which hopefully will continue on into their time. As such, I'm calling on the NC Museum of History to see about adding this piece of NC Sports history to their already impressive shrine to athletic greatness here in Raleigh.
