North Carolina Legislature and North Carolinians for Home Education (NCHE): We ask the legislature to not sponsor a bill for altering home school law.

We the undersigned, oppose the introduction of a bill to the North Carolina Legislature which would alter G.S. 115-563(a), which states:

"Home school" means a nonpublic school in which one or more children of not more than two families or households receive academic instruction from parents or legal guardians, or a member of either household.

Dear Sir or Madame,
As a registered voter, I consider it my responsibility to stay informed and voice my opinion by signing this petition opposing the introduction of a bill into the North Carolina Legislature which would alter G.S. 115-563(a), which currently states:

"Home school" means a nonpublic school in which one or more children of not more than two families or households receive academic instruction from parents or legal guardians, or a member of either household."

I have studied the proposed changes, and do not believe any alterations to current law are necessary. The statutes as they are written have served North Carolina home schoolers extremely well since NCHE's instrumental work in developing them in 1988 and I do not support the proposed change.

I appreciate your continued support of the North Carolina home schooling community.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
