We, the parents of North Babylon School District, are advocating for freedom of choice when it comes to mask wearing during the 2021-2022 school year.

This petition is in favor of parental choice to mask or not mask their own child or children for school-aged children in grades K-12 in NBSD.  We are calling on our Superintendent, School Board, and district administrators, not to mandate masks for 2021-2022 school year, and let the parents choose whether or not to have their children masked in school.  Parents that feel otherwise have every right to continue to mask their own children, should they feel fit, that is their freedom of choice.

Masking has been proven to be ineffective as summer school and camps have been mask-free as well as many studies that provide ineffectiveness.  Masks can be harmful to our children, physically and emotionally and there is proven data documenting. 

With teachers, staff, and other adults, all having the opportunity of CHOICE to be fully vaccinated, the perceived risk of children spreading the virus to adults has been removed. There is no public health justification for forcing children to wear masks in school. It is clear that masks do more harm than good including physical, mental, and emotionally.

We the parents have our constitutional right to decide what we feel is best for our children. 

It is time we give our children back their childhood and allow them the chance to be kids and breathe freely.
