Allow NA Students to Bring Outside Guests to Homecoming 2021
The North Allegheny Students strongly believe that we should be able to bring students from other schools to Homecoming. It is not fair that students from different districts are allowed to be in our student sections at NA games, and come to other North Allegheny hosted events but not come to our homecoming. Many North Allegheny students already have dates that go to other schools. If these schools allow NA students to go their homecomings, we should be able to do the same. It makes no difference whether or not the students go to NA or not. Many people would feel uncomfortable attending a dance without the person they are intended to go with. Let’s compare homecoming to a NA football game student sections. Fill with people, outside, no masks, and with people from other schools. There is no difference between the two, so it makes no sense as to why the rules should change. Homecoming is a very special event. Keep in mind that this is the first year freshmen and sophomores will attend a homecoming, and many of them have dates from other schools as well. Even some juniors are going with sophomores, etc. Will the NA sophomores be able to come to the NASH homecoming? They go to a different school, so it would be the same as someone from a different district. Last year, we were all divided due to COVID. Keeping us all separated this year is only making it worse. All we want is to hang out with who we want at an event that was made for students to have fun outside of school. If a student comes to the homecoming as a guest of an NA student there should be no issue letting them in.
