In Ireland secondary school students are due to return to school on the first of November 2021 the day after Halloween. I wish to petition Norma foley to adjust the Halloween midterm break to include the first of November either by giving an extra days holidays or by starting the holidays a day later therefore the first of November can be included and we still get the same amount of days of.

Halloween is a fun time of year. Children are trick or treating, people are partying some may be staying at home eating sweets or staying up late watching Halloween movies.  Halloween brings with it a lot of family traditions. We didn’t have Halloween last year due to covid so this year is a more important one. This year we’re making up for lost time with family finally being able to speak to people without a mask on and socialize normally. Everybody’s mental health has suffered since the beginning of lockdown and what we need now is interaction with others and some sense of normality.
