Overview Statement:
As a citizen of the City of Portsmouth, I am extremely concerned about the potential environmental impacts from the construction of a New Power Plant for Norfolk Naval Shipyard. I oppose the construction of the gas-powered plant at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in its current proposal and request that the project be escalated to a public hearing of the State Air Pollution Control Board. This document is my official technical comment to the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) outlining our oppositions which are as follows:
