Throughout our years living at Guist it’s always baffled us as to why there isn’t a speed camera in the village. It’s a highly active road and a major route for lorries connecting Norwich with various towns and villages, however even the lorries don’t want to stick to the speed limit. Living in the house right in the centre of Guist our wall has been hit numerous times and there’s been a few accidents over the years too. There’s a speed awareness camera (just tells you to go 30) but actually nothing to enforce that and the only law enforcement we see just go straight through the village and on to other places. We’ve just had a newborn and we’re not the only residents with kids and pets in the village yet even in a 30 crossing the road with a baby in a pram is terrifying!. Everyday people break the speed limit in this village many many times over and I feel the residents of guist would feel much safer and comfortable if there was something in place to enforce the speed limit.
