I have strong views and care about this so much as we are struggling to get a diagnosis for our little boy Tommy-Lee. We as parents believe he is on the Autism Spectrum we understand academically there are no issues as of yet and he doesn't display his behaviors within the school setting.
I am passionate with my views for us as a family and for other families that are going through the same as us. It is such a struggle get to an assessment or a diagnosis due to the health care stating a child needs to display the behaviors within two separate settings.
I have spoke personally with so many families in the same situation as ourselves their child/children only display behaviors at home and not in school.
I don't understand how the health care can make this statement as if a child was home schooled they wouldn't be able to get an report from a school setting. It has been a proven fact an early diagnosis will help a child in life for early intervention
Going Private has crossed our minds as all we want is what is best for our child like most parents do. Private assessments/diagnosis cost a fortune and not every family is in the financial state to be able to afford these costs.
