Tony Wellington, demand resignation of Cr Jess Glasgow from Minister

0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!

The recent airing of national television program The Bachelorette featuring Councillor Jess Glasgow has offended many residents. His public appearance as a Noosa Shire Councillor has brought the Noosa Council and the Noosa Shire into disrepute. As the leader of the Council, Mayor Tony Wellington is responsible for upholding the values of the people of Noosa, and maintaining the Council’s integrity and credibility.

The people of Noosa call on Mayor Tony Wellington to request in writing the Minister for Local Government, the Honourable Stirling Hinchcliffe MP and the Premier, the Honourable Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, to take action to dismiss Councillor Jess Glasgow from Noosa Council as per the Local Government Act s122.

The reasons to be included in the request by the Mayor include that:

(1) the Minister reasonably believes that a councillor has seriously or continuously breached the local government principles; and

(2) the Minister reasonably believes it is otherwise in the public interest that a councillor be suspended or dismissed.

We respectfully request this action be completed as a matter of urgency, by Friday 18th October, 2019.
