South African Positive Women Ambassadors and Ward 14 Leaders and Community at Large are opposing Bail for 2 Rape Case Suspects, who raped a mentally disturbed young woman in Vuna Area, Ward 14, Nongoma, Zulu land District. It is alleged that the 2 Suspects sent another to call the victim, pretended as if her mom was calling her. The 2 Suspects took her to a certain house where they've asked her to fry beef liver for them, she refused. 1st suspect forced himself on her, penetrating his penis on her vagina and raped her, the 2nd suspect used a condom when he was raping her, the 2nd suspect said'I don't want the police to get proof that I did rape her'. His statement make it clear that he was sober minded and both Suspects planned to victmise her long time ago. SAPWA and Vuna Community are asking Nongoma Court not to Grant Bail for the 2 Suspects to Protect Women and Girls in the area of Vuna, Ward 14,Nongoma. If the Court Grant Bail for 2 Suspects, Women and Girls in Vuna will live in fear, they will not be able to walk free and stay alone in their homes. Suspects presence will mostly affect female single parents who are staying alone wihh their girl children. Vuna area is too rural and doesn't have basic needs and this lead to a number of women and girls walking long distances alone to access health services and other services, with Suspects in the community Women and Girls will be prevented from accessing health services and this will lead to non_adherence to treatment, which will put women and girls lives at higher risk of getting resistance HIV. The 2 Suspects have weapons to destroy women and girls in their bodies which might be a big challenge for women and girls to defend themselves.
