People with Mental Health struggles find it really hard to get and train a service dog. I for one suffer from Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD. When I heard about service dogs that could help with that I knew it would be the perfect choice. I looked at getting a service dog already trained or buying a dog to train myself but I was way too poor. Buying a dog is between $750-3,500 which is ridiculous in my book. Not to mention the training for a service dog costed more then $20,000 US dollars. Insurance doesn't cover a service dogs pricing and because a lot of people who actually need service dogs are struggling financially we can't get one to help us. It may not seem like a big need to many but a service dog trained to help those mentally and emotionally can actually help a ton and make people feel a lot of comfort just like your ordinary pet. Service dogs are able to go out with their owners to many different places that the owner may struggle and need help in while a normal pet can only stay at home. I really want service dogs to be more accessible and while I may be running this petition on my own with little support I still hope to make some kind of change. Please help me make a change and make service dogs more accessible and affordable for those who need it!
