Now more than ever bullying and harassment are a huge part of today's issue's flooding Allegan Public School's. For too long parents have asked Mr. Antoine and the BOE (Board of Education), whom work hand in hand, for help. Mr. Antoine and the BOE have continously dismissed parental concerns and cries for help, have allowed bullying to continue from peer to peer, but have also allowed the abuse and neglect of our children to occur at the hands of its very own staff. Mr. Antoine has in the past and still at the present fully sanctioning the use of Seclusion Rooms on our Elementary students. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the terminology; this is solitary confinement. These rooms are illegal for use unless in a state of emergency. More so, the rooms are used on students with developmental disabilities as a way of correcting behaviors. Allegan Public Schools receives thousands annually in grants and special funding for students that require accommodations. Instead of Mr. Antoine and the BOE using this money that is intended and designated for special needs children as it is designed, it is being used for other purposes. Again which is a misappropriation of funds and illegal. I encourage any and all to do your research. The parents that have children suffering from bullying, they already know these facts. The parents that have children with special needs, they also already know these facts. In closing, our school system is a very corrupt one, and if we are ever going to see a change, it needs to start HERE and NOW. Please, sign this petition for the Non-Renewal of Mr. James Antoine. Let's remove the poison from our schools.
