Drop the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup and replace it with a respectable Reptile Expo!

Every year people drone to Texas to watch thousands of Rattlesnakes killed in something called the Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup. It's supposed to be a fun educational event but it's poorly advertised, and absolutely unnecessary as thousands are pulled from the native habitat in a process called gassing, where gas is poured into the nest of these animals rendering the nests useless for many years to come. We in the reptile trade want to see a change. We want to help sculpt public opinion of these animals and offer a more interactive experience that is also beneficial to native wildlife as well more beneficial for the Colleseum itself via both public opinion and financial gain. This is a petition to end the cruelty to a very misrepresented animal and a plea to bring education and a very long tradition of love for animals to replace a scar on the fabric of humanity.
