I want people to really understand the impacts of plagiarism on both the writer being stolen from, and the person stealing the writing. When you steal writing from someone, you are not only stealing their words but also their imagination, their creativity, and a piece of their pride essentially. Thieving words is no different then stealing a piece of someone's life, whether it be an actual thing like a phone or a piece of clothing, or a person from their life. Carrying off with words is a lot like stealing a friend from someone, you'll feel okay with it in the moment, but the second you actually get those words on paper, you will feel guilty and hate yourself. You have stolen a piece of someone's life. Also, whether you know it or not, there are people in your community that look up to you no matter what, and if they see you stealing anything, whether it be words or a person, their going to be affected by it. Your family will be disappointed in you, whether it's a small simple assignment or a larger one, it doesn't change the aspect of stealing. I want more people to see these deeper effects of plagiarism, I want people to be aware of it. By signing this petition, you are getting the word out there, you are making more and more people aware of this awful thing that people continue to do.
