Jonathan Price was murdered on October 3rd by Hunt County Police in midst of Jonathan not only assisting a domestic disturbance issue outside a gas station-but actually resolving it.
Hunt County police arrived on scene after the late Mr. Price had already resolved the disturbance issue. It was when officer Shaun Lucas arrived on scene that he profiled Mr. Price as a perpetrator-regardless of Mr. Price not just introducing himself but ASKING the officer “are you good?” Several times.
The affidavit statement put out by the cowardly Shaun Lucas (officer in question) in his own defense is attempting to paint the late Mr. Price as an “intoxicated, aggressive individual” who tried to grab his taser. After body camera footage was released it was confirmed that Jonathan was
a) in his right mind-asked the officer in question of his being several times
b) responsive to an unjust detainment-He tried to walk away as soon as Lucas threatens him with arrest and tasing
c) expressing law enforcement had no right to detain him, as he was not a perpetrator. “I can’t be detained” Jonathan states.
when Lucas delivers threats of arrest, Mr. Price begins Walking away, only to be tased and shot Four times in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. All for aiding a domestic disturbance at a gas station.
Jonathan Price was exercising civic duty. Although Sean Lucas faces a murder charge as well as a $1 million bond, Mr. Price was taken from his family and leaves behind many friends and his parents who are currently in need of memorial cost aid this upcoming Saturday (10/10/20) here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/25o7kmjy5c
the goal of this petition is to push Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Hunt County D.A. Noble D. Walker to pay a large sum to The Price Family as reparations. No price tag could ever be put on a human life, but it can help.
I’m also pushing to allocate de-funding towards law enforcement when they are obviously entertaining a space for racists with guns to kill. This is not protect and serve, and it never has been. At this point, the true intentions of not only the local but state governments are showing their true colors-and it’s sick.

This ends when the Police ends. Calling for an immediate de-funding to police academies, stations, and re-allocating of these funds to community grassroots organizations and businesses to uplift the community and trust that The People Will and Can Deliver.
Ken Paxton, Noble D. Walker, shame on you for letting this happen within your law enforcement extensions. Re-educate. Re-allocate. Show some compassion for humanity. This is beyond carnage-and I wonder how you sleep at night. Maybe the check you get from the state is enough for a dream doze now, but we are all judged the same in the end.
