Commercial fishing , Sportfishing or fishing for Fun  is cruelty to animals on a colossal scale, killing hundreds of billions of Fish and other marine Wildlfe   worldwide every year—far more than any other industry.

This industry has decimated our ocean ecosystems. In fact, 90 percent of large fish populations have been exterminated because of the enormous numbers of animals caught.

Anglers may not want to think about it, but fishing is nothing more than a cruel sport.  Fish  are scared, in pain, and fighting for their lives.

Numerous studies in recent years have demonstrated that fish feel and react to pain.

A study by scientists at Queen's University Belfast proved that fish learn to avoid pain, just like other animals. Rebecca Dunlop, one of the researchers, said, "This paper shows that pain avoidance in fish doesn't seem to be a reflex response, rather one that is learned, remembered and is changed according to different circumstances. Therefore, if fish can perceive pain, then angling cannot continue to be considered a non-cruel sport."

Sea turtles, birds, dolphins, seals, whales, sharks, seabirds  who get tangled in nets and hooked by longlines are considered "bycatch" and thrown overboard.

Lost fishing nets " Ghost Gear" killing hundreds of thousands of whales, dolphins, sharks, seals, turtles and seabirds.

More than 650,000 marine mammals—dolphins, whales, and porpoises—are seriously injured or killed every year by the commercial fishing industry.

The Fish Trade and Fish Markets are risk of spreading Viruses like Covid19.

Mercury Levels -Researchers have found that mercury levels in tuna are 10 million times higher than in seawater, with human activities since the Industrial Revolution to blame. Let that sink in for a minute…

Plastic in Fish
The meat of fish almost always contains microplastics. The tiny particles of plastic float in every sea, lake and river. They are mistaken by fish for food and consumedby humans who eat fish.

Factory Farm Cruelty
fish on factory farms are confined to overpopulated enclosures. This often results in feces- and bacteria-contaminated water.

Scientists now warn that our oceans could be empty of fish by 2048.

The consumption of fish meat is now regularly warned in the media. Due to the increasing pollution of the oceans, heavy metals and microplastic particles accumulate in the fish meat and thus land on our plate. In fish farming in turn, chemical cocktails and antibiotics are part of the daily "food" of the animals.
The most important health risks associated with fish meat include microplastics, worms, mercury, antibiotics .

The best thing we can do to remove our support from the cruel fishing industry is to leave fish off our plates and switch to a compassionate vegan diet.

I urge ASEAN, European Parliament, MSC, NOAA Fisheries:

-ban fishing

-cleanup the oceans from lost fishing gear and nets

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Commercial fishing , Sportfishing or fishing for Fun is cruelty to animals on a colossal scale, killing hundreds of billions of Fish worldwide every year—far more than any other industry.

Regardless of the method used to catch them, if the fish are still alive at the end of their terrifying journey to the surface, their gills are cut and they're left to bleed out or tossed onto ice to slowly freeze or suffocate—a horribly cruel and painful death for coldblooded animals, who can take a very long time to die this way.

This industry has decimated our ocean ecosystems. In fact, 90 percent of large fish populations have been exterminated because of the enormous numbers of animals caught.

Anglers may not want to think about it, but fishing is nothing more than a cruel sport. When fish are impaled on an angler's hook and yanked out of the water, it's not a game to them. They are scared, in pain, and fighting for their lives.

Sea turtles, birds, seals, whales, sharks, seals, seabirds who get tangled in nets and hooked by longlines are considered "bycatch" and thrown overboard. They fall victim to swarming birds or slowly bleed to death in the water.

Lost fishing nets " Ghost Gear" killing hundreds of thousands of whales, seals, turtles and birds.

Scientists estimate that more than 650,000 marine mammals—dolphins, whales, and porpoises—are seriously injured or killed every year by the commercial fishing industry.
Mercury Levels -Researchers have found that mercury levels in tuna are 10 million times higher than in seawater, with human activities since the Industrial Revolution to blame. Let that sink in for a minute…

What You Can Do
-Please dont eat fish- Fish are friends, not food.  Science has repeatedly shown us what common sense already tells us: fish feel pain and can suffer.
