No Skatepark in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Winchombe Town Council are proposing to build an urban skatepark in a rural location - a field with views of the rolling Cotswold hills where there is nothing louder than birdsong!
The proposed site is a mere 60 metres away from residential properties - despite the minimum recommended distance for such buildings being 180 metres. Skateparks are as loud as a clay pigeon shooting range and this noise will impact the families living there rendering their gardens unusable.
Also associated with this park is a cafe and car parking for 50+ cars. The clear intention is to produce a regional tourist attraction which would be totally alien to the area. The congestion will have health implications for everyone locally.
In a time of austerity the cost of this (estimated at £2 million) will have to be borne by local taxpayers at the expense of struggling local social services.
Locals do not need a skatepark, car parks or cafe - we just want somewhere to walk our dogs! Please help support the fight against this farcically inappropriate development.
