Why this petition matters

Started by Nasir Jamil
The current cabinet of Tunbridge Borough Council which is a coalition of Liberal Democratic, Labour and Alliance parties are proposing to charge for parking at the two car parks at Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells. One is accessed by Pembury Road and other is accessed by Hole Hall Road.
There are about 40 spaces in each of the two car park.
We the residents and the park users strongly object this unfair parking charges on the following grounds:
- It could see parked vehicles clogging up the narrow Halls Hole Road, or along the verges on Pembury Road.
- Dunorlan Park has been a lifeline to many individuals and families during lockdown and many people enjoy spending large amounts of time there.
- It will discourage people to use this recreational facility as not all people use cycle also it will be inconvenient for families and disable people.
- The car park need to be resurface and needs to bring to a standard before charging for the car park.
- We do not have confidence that the funds generated by the parking charges will directly benefit to the park itself.
- Park users go there to relax themselves and if a time constraint parking introduced they will keep worrying about the tickets and may not be able to relax themselves.
Please sign this petition to keep Dunorlan Park free from parking charges.
