No More Split

No More Split
Parkview is trying to split lunch into two different lunches, I know this dosent sound like a big deal but this will cause problems for example-
1. Eating Habits: According to www.aacap.org "In the United States, as many as 10 in 100 young women suffer from an eating disorder." And this is just in giral imagination the numbers if whe where to add boys in, there are over 1000 students in this school so over 100 students suffer with an ED in this school alone. And according to www.verywellmind.com "Meal planning is a crucial skill for people recovering from eating disorders" and by splitting lunches in the middle of the school year is affecting the eating schedule so many people have gotten used to. On top of that the students with first lunch will have yo go 3 blocks which is almost the entire school day with out eating which can encourage unhealthy eating habits. This is will also affect grades because students have a harder time focusing when hungry.
2. Skipping: This will promote more skipping according to imprintnews.org "50 percent report skipping class at least once. 16 percent have skipped school or class “many times”. " This will give students an opportunity to slip into the crowd of other students, its the simplest thing to just say that id is your lunch schedule.
3. Loneliness: Yes you read that right loneliness. With two different lunches there is a high possibility that students will have different lunches that their friends. What would you tell these students to do? Sit by themselve? This could one lead bullying that could lead to more skipping. Separating students from their friends will do nothing but hurt them.
I understand that there are problems that need to be dealt with but splitting lunch is not the way. Here are some easier and less harmful solutions- First, for the fights get more security. Second, for the not getting through the lunch line quick enough open the otherside of the cafeteria, we have it fr a reason and to not use it is wasteful and unproductive. Splitting lunch will affect and hurt the very purpose of school education.
