harshidi panchal started this petition to SHRI JP NADDA, MINISTER OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE @JPNadda and

Do you have assurance that the food you eat is fresh, safe to eat and not fake organic ? More than 90% of Indians ignore the organic section in supermarkets just for the fact that it is 4 times expensive. However, when it comes to satisfying our wants, we don't really pay much heed to the price factor, you know why ? 'Cause the first thought that strikes our mind is that "it's just food, so how does it matter?", nowadays more importance is given to filling our hearts with the ability to afford a car, a luxurious house and expensive accessories. The fact that we don't look upon are the deleterious effects of consuming pesticide and insecticide filled fruits and vegetables which just look good but don't do any good. Therefore, I am writing this petition to promulgate cognizance on the needless regulations put on organic farming.

Now you may ask, why should I be worried ? if these regulations are not reduced over a period of time, then the number of organic farmers will reduce as individual certification is very expensive- the expenditure involved cannot be afforded by an ordinary farmer. The main notification which has disturbed all the organic enthusiasts and organic farmers is the notification brought by FSSAI on 29th of December, 2017 to make certification mandatory for an organic farmer which as mentioned above costs a hand and a leg. You may be shocked to know but organic farming has been adopted by thousands of farmers as an uphill task they had to undertake. This is because many farmers wanted to produce something that is beneficial to its consumers' health in the long run. Also, it is not out of place to point out that certification is not a fool-proof mechanism to ensure that something is organic. According to me, FSSAI , which has not taken up any effective regulation of truly unsafe foods like GM  foods and pesticide-laden foods, is clearly being over-zealous in regulating organic foods.

In my opinion, before making certification mandatory for all organic foods, governments should have made organic certification easily accessible by making it free, time-bound, and simple for any farmer who wishes to do organic farming. In fact, organic supply chains are already traceable and therefore, weeding out fake organic is easier her through traceability. Some of the best and pioneering organic farmers of India, the ones who have inspired hundreds of others to shift to organic farming, are in fact uncertified.

To conclude, Indian organic farmers need win-win solutions for organic producers as well as organic consumers. For me, I love supporting organic buddies for the very fact that I believe eating conventionally grown food will lead to several other uncurable diseases like cancer, because we all know all diseases start from accumulation of toxins and pesticides and insecticides are nothing but harmful toxins in disguise, also when people argue with me of organic food being expensive, I tell them about the better taste they will get to experience, the large number of vitamins that are retained in the produce and the satisfaction I get when I eat the food which is friendly to mother earth and I feel happy when I know that if I eat organic food, mother earth will always be my best friend, which is very important to me as I am a nature lover, are you ?

So, now I don't know what to say, but yes, if you sign this petition, a lot of organic farmers will be grateful to you and so will I and my team from @organiquefriends.
