Hello my name is Tyce Ward, and I’m asking for your help to make a big change in our community regarding Utah code 76-9-702.1 sexual battery. I’m proposing that there be a specific code when perpetrated on a child, and have there be a harsher penalty. This code is only classified as a Class A Misdemeanor, I am petitioning to make it a third-degree felony with the requirement that the perpetrator register as a sex offender. I am hoping we can change the lives of kids in the future and make a positive impact on our community. I would like your help to get this in front of the Utah legislature so I can change the course of how these cases are handled.
