Petition Closed

The citizens of Williamsburg and surrounding counties do not want a landfill to be situated in this agricultural area of the state. There is huge potential for crop and water contamination.  Williamsburg County Council apparently moved forward with plans for a 400,000 ton dump despite the opposition of county residents.  No buffer at all is required for farms according to state regulations, and local farmers are already being told that buyers will drop their products if the landfill is built.
