I feel unsafe in the class room talking to a student, who might have a gun.

University campuses are supposed to be places where academic freedom, dissident voices, debates, and disagreements thrive and push forward generations of thought. Whether or not we actually ever see a gun in the classroom is irrelevant. Legally allowing deadly weapons in academic spaces forces us all to consider whether pushing forward that disagreement, projecting that opinion, and engaging in that conversation is worth it. And such a consideration is absurd for people who have come to this place to think and learn.

I truly believe guns should not be allowed anywhere on campus. I hope and pray that an innocent doesn't have to die before people wake up and realize allowing students to carry guns is a bad good idea.
