New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern is set to appoint outgoing Speaker Trevor Mallard to an overseas diplomatic position.

Mallard is totally unsuited to represent New Zealand. He assaulted an MP in Parliament. He falsely accused a Parliamentary staff member of rape and refused to correct the record a day later when advised he was wrong, and he inflamed Parliament's occupation this year with his childish behaviour.

Mallard should never be a representative of New Zealand.
