No destroying the historic site of Hisham's Palace in Jericho

There is a project - sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and managed by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of the Palestinian Authority, to build a shelter over one of the most significant Umayyad sites in the Middle East, known as Hisham's Palace, in Jericho (Palestine). The shelter is not aligned with international standards for the protection of archaeological sites, as it looks like a sport facility shelter. If built, this shelter will irreversibly destroy the integrity and authenticity of the site, which are key factors for the site to be inscribed on the World Heritage list (the site is already included in Palestine's World Heritage Tentative List).
