We, the undersigned residents of the Fairwood Community in Bowie, Maryland, and the surrounding communities, hereby urge all members of the Prince George’s County Council to disapprove the proposed plans for the construction and operation of Chance Academy in our community.

We believe a school located within our community, but not intended to serve the needs of families and children in our community is NOT in the best interest of homeowners/residents of the Fairwood Community. Chance Academy is NOT an accredited educational program and undermines Prince George’s County’s efforts to provide children with excellent and equitable education accredited by the Maryland Department of Education. Furthermore, a school campus of the size and scope planned by Chance LLC. will result in disturbances of peace, quiet, and privacy, additional traffic, disruption of natural habitat, numerous street repairs, increased noise levels, etc.  Chance LLC’s proposed plans for a school setting, population, faculty, and staff will negatively impact our day-to-day activities, property values, and the beauty of our environmental surroundings that we have lived and enjoyed as Fairwood residents.
