The South African Police Services have arrested suspects involved in the brutal assassinations of anti-corruption activists, Ralf Kanyane and Vaaltyn Kekana on June 2019, Mogalakwena, Limpopo.   The arrests come as a breakthrough as Mogalakwena has a history of political killings which end up being cold cases.   The arrested suspects are individuals who are politicians, senior manager of Mogalakwena Municipality, Service Providers of the Municipality and Serial Law offenders.  The suspects are due to have a bail hearing on Tuesday, 17 May 2022 at the Mokopane Magistrate Court.

As community activists and members of the society in general, request that the suspects must not be given bail based on the following reasons;

1. Due to the fact that of the accused is a high profiled politician in Mogalakwena who is currently defending himself on another case of corruption in Mogalakwena at the Polokwane High Court,  him being outside will give him time to temper with the case.
2. The suspects have access to resources that can threaten any one they don't agree with.
3. Due to the history of unresolved political killings in Mogalakwena, political activists feel the release of the suspects will pose a threat to their lives
4. Majority of the population of the people of Mogalakwena feel that the suspect should not be out on bail as they can commit more similar crimes.
