Change the Breast cancer Screening age and process

My wife got diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, 5 months after having a Mammogram and told you are all clear see you in three years. After having an audit of the previous scans, there was a subtle change between the 2017 and 2020 scans but the hospital decided not to inform us of this and in retrospect of this audit they agreed they may have missed the cancer. The issue here is if we had been informed of a subtle change we could have asked for this to be checked again in 1 -3 months or we could have asked for a more accurate method to check it was not cancer. This would have been an MRI which can highlight cancer better than a Mammogram. As we did not have that information at that time, we are now in a situation where she is now stage three and on Chemo. What if we had detected 4 months early, would the outcome be different as the treatment would be less severe. We will never know and I am petitioning to get the results they find if there is any chance they inform the patient so they have the chance to have a follow up and chance of earlier diagnosis. And stop this 7 in 100 call backs and prevent cancer being missed
