To gain our 5.0 Distinction GPA
To gain our 5.0 Distinction GPA
Why this petition matters

Currently, a student and I have achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA with all college/ap courses last semester in High School. In our district, we are able to gain a 1.0 distinction point for each college/ap/dual credit/pltw course. For example, gaining an A or 4.0 in AP Seminar would turn into a 5.0 distinctive grade.
Now however, we do know that gaining a 5.0 cumulative GPA in our highschool career is impossible. This student and I are also part of an off-campus program that allows us to take college classes in a college setting i.e. campus. These grades are considered dual credit.
But however, one of the classes at this we took was mandatory for doing this program which was called "College 100 First-Year Seminar." This 1-credit class acted as an introduction to college and resources on campus that we can use to help prepare for college life. This class was considered by our principal as non dual-credit and just a normal class. So it didn't get the distinctive point that we thought we had achieve.
This year, I myself have taken 4 AP classes and 4 off campus college classes including the 1-credit class. Since I have achieved a 4.0, this has resulted in my distinctive GPA being a 4.875. This matters to me and the other student because we were under the premise/miscommunication that all classes we've taken at the off-campus program would be college level courses. We expected to gain the 5.0 GPA last semester.
The purpose of this petition is to draw more attention for our principal to change the course's scaling. We felt many feelings throughout this process and would like your help in achieving our goal of a 5.0 distinctive gpa for the semester.
