Why this petition matters

In September 2018, Raritan Valley Line riders lost any access to midtown direct service. It was promised to return in May. Well, May, June, July, August, and September all go by and lo and behold, three weeks before the election, Governor Murphy performs an October Miracle and restores RVL off-peak midtown direct service.
While Governor Murphy put politics above policy and used NJ transit as a political Hail Mary to influence this year's election, what did commuters really get? Service that was taken away was restored six months later than promised. While the handful of people going into the city to see a play or sporting event benefit, every day commuters who really need the service are left out again, stuck with delays, over crowded trains and missed connections.
A new tunnel is not going to be built any time soon, and Penn station is not going to increase capacity overnight. Meetings and studies are getting RVL commuters nothing. It’s time to put a fair schedule in place, even if it means taking away direct trains from other lines.

It’s time to demand action. Let Governor Murphy and NJ Transit know it’s time for Raritan Valley riders to have a fair share!
