David Pressey started this petition to NJ Governor Phil Murphy and NJ Turnpike Authority

Recently the NJ Turnpike Authority has mandated removal of flags and signage that has been maintained by private organizations and citizens for the last 19 years.

N.J.A.C. 19:9-1.13 should have specifically targeted commercial advertising and should not apply to patriotic displays maintained at the expense of private individuals, there are several displays on similar bridges throughout the state of NJ, and even many more throughout the United States. I personally would like N.J.A.C. 19:9-1.13 immediately repealed or rewritten to allow for displays of this nature.

This is not political advertising, commercial advertising and only promotes patriotism. There is nothing wring with being proud of your country, state, or town. Display of the United States flag is a freedom that is afforded to us under the 1st amendment of the United States Constitution.

Let's all work together and share this petition far and wide and show Governor Murphy and the NJ Turnpike Authority that we will not stand down on this issue. Let's fight to repeal N.J.A.C. 19:9-1.13.
