No HeliSTOP in the Sourlands!

A private golf club has submitted an application to the NJ DOT to build a helistop to transport club members and guests. Helicopter traffic in the Sourland region poses a threat to wildlife, streams, groundwater, livestock, horseback riders, residents and others.
East Amwell Township approved the original golf course design only after the helistop was removed. The golf course has been in operation since 2002, and now the owner is asking NJ DOT to approve the helistop!
The Sourland forest is home to many sensitive species – including several threatened and endangered birds and amphibians. It is a critical stop for neotropical migratory birds and provides important breeding habitat.
Please sign this petition and tell the NJ DOT that increased helicopter traffic in the Sourlands would impact YOUR health and safety - and that of your family and neighbors.
Are you concerned about another helicopter crash in this remote area - and the risk of fire? Are you concerned about contaminants in your streams and drinking water? Do low-flying helicopters upset your livestock? Is your horse spooked by sudden loud noises? Please sign this petition - and call your state senator and assembly representatives. Let them know about the impacts this helistop would have on their constituents - and urge them to act now to stop it.
Please join the Sourland Conservancy in asking the NJ DOT to deny the Ridge at Back Brook LLC helistop application. For more information, visit www.sourland.org
