Stop the loot by the private bus operators on holidays

With the passenger rush increasing during the holiday season, many private bus operators start charging nearly double the normal fare.
The private bus operators hike the ticket rates to most places, based on demand.
During holidays some private operators are charging up to `2,500 from Pune to Nagpur, a 12-hour journey in an A/C bus, which is normally less than `1,000. The passengers have no option but to shell out the money as they don't have any other option as the trains are full and the capacity is not sufficient to cater to all the passengers.
There is no government control on these rising bus fares and the operators hike the price as and when they want. There must be some government check on these operators so that the troubled passengers can get some relief.
We would request the concerned authority to please look into this matter.
