Priyanshu Dhiman started this petition to Nitin Gadkari (Transport Ministry)

Indian roads are the most unsafest roads in the entire world due to their unpredictable nature. The government being negligent towards the safety for many years, the 'under the table' practice of Indian cops and other officers combined with the unawareness of the Indian public towards road safety made it even worse for the road users.

Though the people are still unaware about road ethics and safety measures, I'm happy that atleast the government has realized that road users need to be safe.

The government has ordered all the auto manufacturers to comply with the upcoming set of rules which enforce on two wheelers from April 1, 2019.

Under these new rules, every bike sold in India requires to have Combi-Braking System(For less than 125cc) and an Anti-Lock Braking System(for above 125cc).

While a proper Dual channel ABS system is really helpful in ensuring safety of a rider by preventing both the tyres from getting locked under heavy panic braking, many manufacturers are simply giving a namesake Single channel ABS to their products.

E.g.- Recently Royal Enfield updated its entire portfolio with a proper Dual channel ABS, TVS has it on its RTR 180 and RTR 200 and Yamaha recently gave it to its immensely popular R-15. On the contrary, manufacturers like Bajaj, KTM, Hero, Suzuki and Honda do not have a single sub 1.5 lakh motorcycle which has a proper Dual channel ABS on offer.

Most of the auto experts too believe that a modern Dual channel which costs only around 5-6000 more than a Single channel ABS provides the rider with way much better safety over this namesake Single channel ABS which is of no use as the rear wheel will still lock up, resulting into the rider losing control of his motorcycle, violating the prime motive of installing ABS on a bike.

What I want is that the government should make amendments in its rules and mandate a Dual channel ABS on two wheelers above 125cc, ensuring that the companies do not take the government's rules and the customer's safety for granted and provide proper safety equipment on their bikes.

Please sign this petition in as much great number as possible so that this petition reaches the government and they make the roads a better place for us road users and also for our those fellows who aren't much aware about  road safety and get fooled by these multi million companies.
