Getting my vehicle fixed

Never had any problems with my 2010 maxima which by the way I love. Got off work my car wouldn't start, changed the batteries in my FOB and still nothing....had to have it towed and found it could only be fixed by the dealer for $1000 plus. Doing further research I am not alone. The Steering wheel lock is defective in many Nissan's and Nissan drivers are left stranded and left with hefty repair bill, the replacement part cost $500-600 plus labor.
Nissan should recall and replace this part.
