Remember Nirbhaya, who died fighting for life in the cold winters of December 2012. There are many other Nirbhayas in our country who need our help. Friends, It is very disturbing to know that the state governments are sitting on huge sums of money while victims of rape and acid attack struggle to live a normal life.
A corpus of Rs 200 crores was sanctioned from the Nirbhaya fund under CVCF scheme to each state in October 2015 vide MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) notification dated 14.10.2015. The funds were released to the state government in 2016-17. Despite constant reminders from the MHA, the state governments have not done anything to release the money to victims.
Unfortunately the States are playing blame games instead of providing the funds to the rape victims and acid attack victims which will be of a great help in their rehabilitation.
A link of notifications of MHA and relevant news article is placed here for your reference.

Through this petition, "I urge the Chief Ministers of states/UT having highest number of rape victims to immediately release the Central Victim Compensation Fund to the victims as directed in the MHA notification dated 14.10.2015. Further, the states should also make the data of the disbursement available on their respective citizens portal website without disclosing the name of the victims".
