Get Nintendo to Develop a Handicapped Accessible Game System
Why this petition matters

My name is Paulie Reed Stetser and I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I have been playing Nintendo systems almost my entire life, my first was a Gameboy. Because of my disease, my hands have curled up and I am unable to open them to play a Wii or even a Switch. The only system I am capable of playing is my 3DS.
Unfortunately this means that any fantastic new games Nintendo creates, I cannot play. There are obviously many other people with my disease or situations similar to mine. Some of which, I'm sure are fans of video games.
I think it would be a great opportunity for Nintendo, if they were to create the first game system (possibly handheld) for people with disabilities! As they are marketed as a company that makes games for people of all abilities. It would greatly open up their market to a larger demographic, and the wider net for cash flow obviously wouldn't hurt them.
I want to be able to play games like Animal Crossing New Horizons or Pokemon Sword and Shield, but this isn't just about me. It's about the portion of the gaming community that is missing out on some really awesome things that are being made, simply because of their physical limitations. We already have so much to deal with, these games are an escape from pain.
I have come up with a list of ways Nintendo can solve this issue.
- Create a unique handheld system that can be used by people with limited movement, preferably with easy to push buttons. This could be difficult and possibly take quite a bit of time to research how disabled people might hold object.
- Create a game system that can easily connect to a PC. This would make it so players can play with a mouse games that typically require a controller-type system.
- Recreate PC versions of 3DS and Switch games. Similarly to the previous idea, making these games mouse compatible would greatly increase ability to play.
- Create a game system that you can control with a headset that senses brainwaves. These type of headsets have been successful with controlling RC cars, so they have been proven to work.
