Allow transgender players to change their in-game names in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a huge player base, with around 11 million players (according to The Guardian). With a number this big, it’s no surprise that a huge number of these players are transgender, and of those trans players, many of them would have started playing the game when they still went by their deadname, meaning that the villagers on their islands will often refer to them by their deadnames. Currently the only way to change your name would be to create a new character, which is both inconvenient and time-consuming, because you would need to purchase and earn additional reactions, spend potentially millions of bells to restore your house to the upgrade level it was at, and lose all of your additional DIYs and Nook Catalog items. To accomodate the trans players who are in this situation, Nintendo should add a feature in ACNH allowing you to change your name. This would also benefit cisgender (someone who identifies with the gender they were assigned at birth) players who want to change their name to a nickname or for any other reason.
