In response to recent tragedies around the nation, we the parents, grandparents, and friends of children and staff in the Houston County School District (Georgia) demand "Action Before August"!

We are requesting that the school install a Night Lock security device in EVERY classroom, restroom, and entryway throughout each Houston County School BEFORE students and staff return to school in August. While this may seem like an ambitious timeline, it has been shared that the Night Lock security device has been "considered" by Houston County Schools for several years - the time for action is NOW. 

Should financial concerns be the reason that the Board decide not to move forward with the purchasing and installation of the Night Lock security devices, we ask that the Board allow parents and families the opportunity to take matters into their own hands to fundraise and/or donate the funds to cover the cost of devices and installation services.

By signing this petition, I am stating that I am in favor of the installation of the Night Lock security device in ALL Houston County Schools as well as would be willing to support and/or contribute to fundraising efforts, if necessary. Additionally, I expect "Action Before August" - the students and staff deserve protection and responsive measures taken BEFORE the next school year starts.

A group of proactive parents, families, and friends plan to be in attendance at the June 14th HOCO Board Meeting hosted at 1 PM (EST) at the Board of Education Office in Perry, Georgia. While I may or may not be in attendance, my signature on this document shows that I stand in solidarity with them.
