Women’s Inheritance Rights in Nigeria

Women’s Inheritance Rights in Nigeria
1. I was born into the family union of Commodore Felix Ibiebelari Biambo Rtd. and Pastor (Mrs) Nkiruka Theresa Biambo both deceased while Lt. Col. Diepriye Biambo hereinafter referred to as my half-brother and one of the heirs to the estate of Commodore Felix Ibiebelari Baimbo Rtd. Hereinafter referred to as “Father”. My parents were both married in 1976, my mother died in 2019, and my father navy Commodore Felix I Biambo died in May 2021. Little did I know my world would fall apart as my Father died.
2. It is my complaint that Father died intestate leaving behind about (N30,000.000Million Naira) kept and spread in the various bank accounts for me and Lt. Col. Diepriye Biambo being the only surviving heirs.
3. Furthermore, as part of the above-stated Bank accounts, our father has a Zenith bank account which has been hijacked by the Lt. Col. Diepriye Biambo and made a withdrawal of 27,000,000 million Naira transferred to his personal account depriving me of my own 50% as instructed by an audio recording of our late father. All my petitions to the Chief of arm staff are being blocked and my family has been threatened by messages from His Agents.
I want to make sure women in Nigeria don`t pass through these unpleasant situations. The girl child has rights and they must be protected and enforced in Nigeria.
