Many Biafra activists are still illicitly incarcerated by the Nigerian government, most of which were arrested many years ago with unfounded allegations leveled against them. The Nigerian government and her judiciary have continued to play politics with these activists. Biafran activists such as Benjamin Mmadubugwu, David Nwawusi, Chidiebere Onwudiwe and Bright Chimezie.
Recall that Benjamin Mmadubugwu, David Nwawusi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe were charged with the unfounded and Bogus treasonable felony alongside Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra ( IPOB). Many courts of competent jurisdiction have ordered for the release of each of these Biafra activists on different occasions, but the Nigerian government flouted those orders with impunity.
However, in April Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was granted conditional bail by the Nigerian high court presided over by Justice Binta Nyako under health ground after many court orders was flouted by the Nigerian government. Yet, other Biafra activists are still being tortured and mistreated. They are undergoing all sort of inhumane and degrading treatment in the hands of Nigerian prison authority in Kuje prison, Abuja.

Mr Benjamin Mmadubugwu has been critically ill for a long time now in Kuje prison with little or no medical attention. His legal counsel has tried everything possible to making sure that a bail is being granted to him at least to go for good medical checkups but all the efforts failed. Now that his health has deteriorated so badly and his personal doctors are being disallowed to attend to his urgent need of medical treatments, his life can not be garranteed anymore if something is not done.
During his arrest and subsequent illegal incarceration, Benjamin Mmadubugwu's property was confiscated and they are still being held by the Nigerian DSS ( Department of Secret Service). Those property that was confiscated includes Toyota Camry car popularly known in Nigeria as Spider face, 2 Mercedes Benz Jeep 4Matic GL450, 3 CCTV decoder was all confiscated by the DSS but were not used as exhibits before the court.
