Nigeria Unity:The need for Youth National Confab

1914 Amalgamation of Southern and Northern Protectorate in Nigeria was aimed at economic growth and not nation building. Nigeria has over 250 languages and her unity in diversity is yet to be a reality hence the need for unification of ideologies,Philosophies, norms, value system etc. The national confab during President Goodluck Jonathan was aimed at making Nigerians great people , one nation. The aim was defeated largely because of the constituents of that conference. The confab was dominated by Adult population with political affiliation. Youths are energetic, innovative real to problems they face and constitute over 60% of any given population among other characteristics. Therefore, Youths as Change Agents have been misguided over the years by Elders that tell them single stories from their selfish perspectives. The urgency is for diverse Nigerian Youths to conference and diverse Nigerian Elders of Repute will tell them stories beyond the headlines behind our histories. I believe if Change Leaders should tell stories behind major events in our history to youths with vision, it will motivate a number of ideas to take flight. I desire very strongly that my generation see to it that Nigeria unity in diversity is achieved. All we need to emerge as a great nation we have. What we have ,we need to process. To process what we have is to process our moral imaginations without any impedance (Religion,Ethnicity, Tribalism). The confab is promising to guide Nigerian Youths to know that the strength of unity is found in compromise, to enshrine principles of Responsible Leadership on Transparency and Good Governance and to develop a curriculum for Story Telling for change for Nigerians among others.
