April Henderson started this petition to Nicola Sturgeon and

This is a petition to reduce social distancing in places of worship and wedding receptions so that the day can be more “normal”.

In Scotland, as it currently stands you need to be 2m distanced at weddings and in places of worship.

This leads to great difficulty in being able to invite all guests as unless the venue is huge, only a fraction will be able to attend to comply with distancing measures.

This is causing great difficulty in planning anything as how are you supposed to invite guests when you are unsure how many will be allowed to come?

In areas with very low cases, I urge the government to review this and reduce the distancing for weddings and also funerals.

This is one of the most exciting days of our lives and at the moment it’s causing nothing but stress trying to arrange anything.

As the days go on, more people are being vaccinated which helps too. People organising a wedding would also be able to easily provide everyone’s contact details for track and trace too.

I urge you to review this situation please.
