Today more and more people are experiencing mental health issues and more people are committing suicide as a result of no longer being able to cope with their own mind.
At least 3 children in every 30 at present will experience a mental health problem by the time they are sixteen meaning that at least 1/3 of adults will experience mental health problems in their lifetime.
By introducing mental health as part of the Scottish curriculum we can help children from developing mental health issues and carrying them through into adult life.
We need our teachers and classroom assistants all trained up on every type of mental health illness’ and how to be able to support and care for children who are battling these illness’ every day. Being able to talk about the illness’ and issues you can’ face is the first step.
These essential classes will help to reduce the amount of suicides and mental health illness’ in the future.
