Sarah Tibbles started this petition to Nicola Sturgeon

Lily’s Law is a law I wish to pass as the Scottish government & other governments in the uk see cats as vermin.  Lily was killed by a dog & because cats are seen as vermin, there was nothing I could do.  If she were a dog, it would have been a different matter as dogs are recognised.  For many of us, cats are a source of comfort & companionship, they also are a huge benefit for health.  Cats are just as important as dogs & I want this to be recognised.  The uk governments do not understand the importance of cats to many of us.  Cats, as well as dogs can be support animals, they go into nursing homes & give the elderly comfort.  I know Lily got me through some tough times, saving me the need to go onto anti depressants.  For all of us who have cats, we love them just as much as we love our dogs, so they should have the same rights as dogs.
