Change the Scottish National Animal

The national animals of nations all around the world are said to be chosen due to their resemblance to the people of the respective nations: The English have the courage of a lion, The Russians are fearsome as bears. However, this is not the case when it comes to the national animal of Scotland. A unicorn is associated in today’s society with childish stories and other nonsense alike. This petition calls for the national animal of Scotland to be made a more appropriate animal: A seagull, for just as a seagull is determined, strong, smart and has a natural attachment to the rivers and lochs of Scotland, so too does the Scottish people.
